About Me

Current work

In addition to my private practice, I am the College Counsellor at Trinity College, University of Cambridge.

Credentials

I am bound by and adhere to the BACP’s Ethical Framework which you can read here: www.bacp.co.uk/ethical_framework. I also commit to and maintain the UKCP's Ethical Principles & Code of Professional Conduct which you can read here: www.psychotherapy.org.uk/code_of_ethics.html.

Qualifications

I trained at the School of Psychotherapy & Counselling Psychology at Regent’s College, London, where I gained the following qualifications:

Though my approach to therapy is primarily existential-phenomenological, I also have training in CBT and integrative therapy, including psychodynamic and person-centred models, and I draw on these when I feel they may be helpful to my clients.

Background & Experience

Before embarking upon a career in psychotherapy & counselling I trained at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and spent several years working as a theatre Stage Manager on plays, operas and West End musicals. Theatre is still my passion and I was a professional member of the Theatre Judging Panel for the 2010 Laurence Olivier Awards.

Since retraining as a psychotherapist, in addition to my private practice in Cambridge I have also worked for the Terrence Higgins Trust, the Claremont Psychotherapy Service, the Student Counselling Service at Goldsmiths, University of London, the Nuffield Health Cambridge Hospital and in private practice in London. Though I see clients from all walks of life, I have particular experience of working with sexual minority clients, students, actors, people working in the arts, and those affected by HIV & Aids.

I am a Director of the Cambridge-based arts and mental health foundation Arts & Minds and since August 2011 have been the Peer Review Co-ordinator for the Journal for Existential Analysis.

"Freedom Captured by the Green-Eyed Monster: Some Existential Perspectives on Romantic Jealousy" published by the Journal for Existential Analysis in January 2010.
