** I am currently on a 12-month sabbatical and will be welcoming new client enquiries from September 2024.**
** Please note: if someone has referred you to me, they may have known me by my former name Helen Acton.**
Approaching therapy or counselling for the first time can feel like a daunting and confusing prospect. People from all walks of life come to see me for many different reasons; you may be in crisis or you may simply wish to explore some aspect of your experience more deeply. Either way, it is a positive and courageous decision to make. Before you begin, you may have many questions about what therapy and counselling are like and how they can help. In these pages you will find a little information about me and about the therapy and counselling I offer. Working with me is a dialogue of depth, and I don’t offer “tools”, “techniques” or “homework”. The relationship between you and your therapist is at the very heart of successful therapy, so it's important that you choose someone who is right for you, whom you feel you will be able to relate to and engage with.
I have a warm, comfortable and private practice room on King’s Parade in central Cambridge. For details of fees and other practice information, please click here.
You can contact me at helen@cambridgetherapist.com or on 07798 622601 if you have any questions or would like to book an initial no-obligation appointment.
"One of the most valuable things about therapy is that it's a place where you don't have to pretend you're on top of the world ... This is a wonderful liberation"
